I wonder if Wanda Skyles was born stupid or just took too many stupid pills?   It is hard to tell.   Gateway Pundit is attributing this quote to Skyles:

“You’ve had your fair share of critics. Rush Limbaugh said this administration fails. He just wants the country to fail. To me that’s treason.”

Now I am not a juris doctor, but even I know, or can google, the definition of treason, Legal Dictionary:

The betrayal of one’s own country by waging war against it or by consciously or purposely acting to aid its enemies.

[…]

Under Article III, Section 3, of the Constitution, any person who levies war against the United States or adheres to its enemies by giving them Aid and Comfort has committed treason within the meaning of the Constitution. The term aid and comfort refers to any act that manifests a betrayal of allegiance to the United States, such as furnishing enemies with arms, troops, transportation, shelter, or classified information. If a subversive act has any tendency to weaken the power of the United States to attack or resist its enemies, aid and comfort has been given.

Treason is defined as an act.  What Skyles attributed to Rush Limbaugh was a thought.    A thought is not an act, except maybe in Obamaland.    Pity for Skyles she too stupid to tell the difference.

Addendum: (Eric)

The bottom line is that Wanda Syskes is on the down side of an overlong career, and figured the best way to deal with her issue was to play to her audience. I submit that the reason she came up with these lines isn’t so much that she actually thinks that way, but that her audience agreed with it. A sense of what each particular audience will find amusing is after all a comedian’s bread and butter. In the case of the people there that night, she’s read them correctly.

A lot of the discussion we’re going to hear about this event will lay the whole thing on Sykes… and doubtless, she’s an idiot, acting in desperation to re-kick her carreer. The real issue, however, the one nobody will mention is how many people in her audience… the Democrats and the press… agree with her… how correctly she identified the way her audience thinks .   In answer, The Weekly Standard notes Obama was yukking it up pretty good at Sykes’ statements. Has vid of it, too. Based on the vid, I’d say she nailed it pretty well.

Sykes has done us a service, the degree of which I suspect she doesn’t understand herself. She’s identified the real problem for us.

  1. In a sense, Obama is taking a play fron B.J. Cinton’s play book, blaming Rush Limbaugh for terrorism.  Clintona attempted to blame Limbaugh for Okalahoma City boming Only problme is that Ciinton failed Obama isn’t samrt enough to realize that Clinton failed.

I fullyexpect that Rush will be forced to deal with Styles accusations, and I expect Limbaugh’s return fire will be accurate and devasting.  If ther is one thing we need to teach the Obamatards, it quit trying to abuse their betters.

  2. Waaa did elrushbo get his itty bitty feelings hurt. You people have lost your minds.Quick call a wambulance.

  3. When conservatives criticize the libtard’s policy with respect to the war on terror, we are accused of questioning the left’s patriotism.  Obama not not laughing at Skyles characterization of Limbaugh’s policy.  Rather the one was laughing at Skyles calling Limbaugh a terrorist.  It shall not stand.

  4. Ditto heads wont stand it anymore.LOL.20% Wont stand to see the grand poohba have the truth spoken about him.Well guess what?
President Obama’s average approval rating has gotten a slight boost this month, hitting the 66 percent mark in Gallup’s tracking …

… poll, compared with an average of 63 percent from January through April. Gallup: “Obama’s approval rating has registered 66 percent or better in each Gallup three-day rolling average since May 2. His 68 percent approval rating reported on May 3 is tied for the second highest of his presidency, exceeded only by the 69 percent recorded immediately after his inauguration. And except for one 66 percent approval rating in late April, all of Obama’s previous 66 percent to 68 percent readings were obtained near the start of his term…

“But despite today’s seemingly positive environment for Obama, a separate Gallup question, asked in late April, indicates the degree to which Americans are keeping an open mind on the next election.

On balance, the majority of Americans nationwide say they would be inclined to vote for Obama in the 2012 presidential election: 53 percent say they would definitely or probably vote for him while 37 percent say they definitely or probably would not. Another 9 percent offer no opinion.”

  5. Obama seems to think that calling Rush Limbaugh a traitor and a terrorist is funny.  Skyles had no evidence to support her accusations.  Do you have any?
