Granted that we’re talking about toss- away popular culture. but how isolated does one need to be even than that rather insular environment , to not understand who Paul McCartney is?

Mind you, I think McCartney is an idiot in general, and specifically for for tying on with this poisonous git, but let’s be fair and say this is simply McCartney trying to remain relevant. That’s understood.

But now, let’s translate this to real life.

Ray Bradbury famously said that you don’t have to burn books, all you have to do is get people to stop reading them. So connect that, to this question….  Do you suppose that any one of the commenters on that stream, has been doing any historical reading at all? Do you suppose that any one of them has a blinking clue as to how we got where we are as a people, as a country, as individuals?

Leave aside for the moment the issue of what’s happened to music. ( and, no, for the record, I am NOT calling what West produces, music or anything even close to it).

What troubles me, is the implications of this to everything else, including the political, it is just downright staggering.

Such people will believe anything, including global warming, and Obama is a good president, rich people are evil, and the government is the only entity that should have guns. The Constitution is outdated and written by a bunch of old white guys, and so on.

Seems to me, I haven’t heard any singing out of the cage in a while.
