Ramble for 6/6/11

(New York City)-– I’m actually not far from where I was the other day, at Middle Village. Just up the Metropolitan Bvd, in fact. A nice drive this morning. Now, it’s about a 5. 1/2 hr drive, though so I had to leave Rochester at around 5am. Not overly happy about that but at least I missed a lot of the traffic.

  • CHICAGO AND THE SECOND AMENDMENT: It’s truly about time somebody spanked these idiots, and I’m glad to see this. [1] But I will be even happier, to be perfectly honest, if when they try to wiggle out of their responsibilities 2nd amendment, they get aggressively spanked yet again, without the people there having go through years of court action.
  • UNION THUGS STRIKE AGAIN: Glenn Reynolds explains [2]
  • Palin and Dean: The Hill: [3]

Howard Dean, the former Democratic National Committee chairman who helped Democrats capture the White House in 2008, warns that Sarah Palin could defeat President Obama in 2012.

Dean says his fellow Democrats should beware of inside-the-Beltway conventional wisdom that Obama would crush Palin in a general-election contest next year.

“I think she could win,” Dean told The Hill in an interview Friday. “She wouldn’t be my first choice if I were a Republican but I think she could win.”

Dean warns the sluggish economy could have more of a political impact than many Washington strategists and pundits assume.

Howard Scream” Dean may well be politically clumsy, but he’s not a complete idiot.

He sees the disaster the Democrats [4] have succeeded in making out of this economy [5], and sees the trend which will make the picture even worse [6], come election time. Dean knows that the trends will continue, and knows at the point of election day, anybody with a pulse can beat Obama, so long as they’re not Democrat. As an example, our next story:

  • SCUTTLING THE SHIP: Politico: [7]

[8]Sarah Palin suggests President Barack Obama is downplaying disappointing economic numbers for May, saying he wants to “go down with this sinking ship.”

Responding to new figures showing that the nation’s unemployment rate ticked up slightly to 9.1 percent, Obama said economy is heading in the right direction but that “there will be bumps on the road to recovery.”

Pushing back in an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” Palin asserted: “This is not a bump in the road. We’ve hit a brick wall.”

Correct.  Indeed, let’s take this a step farther; I think he wants the ship to sink.

Now, Rush has made some waves of late saying this, but remember, gang, I said it back in April: [9]

Look, guys I’ve pointed this up before and will doubtless do so again, but I’m struck by the idea that our destruction at the hands of the left is by intent.

And yes, I’m serious. I want you to seriously consider this: If you wanted to cripple the greatest nation on earth, (Who you’ve said publicly, you want to see take a smaller world role) how would you accomplish it, outside what the left has done? I think that when viewed through the standpoint of a strong America internationally speaking , and a strong private sector economy within America, and individual freedoms, Obama, and the left have gone precisely the wrong direction with a batting average that approach is as close to 1000 as no matter. Given that, it does not seem unreasonable to me to question whether this is a case of incompetence or malice. I conclude the latter.  Reasons are many, but can be summed up this way:

One does not screw up totally every single time without a certain level of both competence, and intent.  It seems more likely to me that what’s happening is that Obama and company have a completely different goal than the stated strong America.
Look, let’s take the gulf oil spill as an example since given “earth day” the press has been making a bit of noise about it over the last few days. Think back now, or re-read the reports of the happening and think:

If a leftist wanted to create an anti oil-drilling sentiment in this country how would one go about it?  How does this differ from what Obama has done? That the two are so very close, suggests that our destruction is being accomplished as a matter of intent. And that is merely one aspect of the whole picture which is monotonously uniform.

Now obviously, we need to throttle the EPA. But we also need to throttle the left, including Obama.

I say it that way because Obama, for all that he represents is still a representation… the latest one… of a mindset… leftism… that has been at the foundation of our national problems for generations, now. I wonder if we can save our country in time, given the damage done.

Seems to me then, that Palin’s got this nailed in a way few have dared.I’m still not thoroughly convinced that she is the best we can offer, but there’s no denying that she is a potent force on the conservative side, and on the side of America.

  • WHERE ARE MICHELLE OBAMA’S FOOD POLICE? Oh, wait. Silly Blogger… rules don’t apply to liberal elite. [10]Besides, she’s off to Africa [11]. On OUR dime. I wonder if we can get her to stay there. I figure she would lmost certainly create last damage to us there.  Maybe we can get her to take him along.
  • WILDFIRE: Meanwhile, America’s people are hurting [12], with disaster after disaster… Even those not brought about by the mismanagement of the Democrats, yet Fearless Leader is nowhere to be seen, down in Arizona, for example.
  • YET ANOTHER  PEACE PRIZE… FOR WHO??Noam Chomsky. [13] The uselessness of such prizes is fully revealed here.   As David Burge quipped: [14]

Six million dead Cambodians were not available for comment.

Unlike what Chomsky (And those idiots passing out this prize) are going to tell you,  Negotiation and capitulation do not bring peace. What brings peace is judicious use of high explosives pointed at those who would claim power over others”.  Does anyone really think that the elimination of such groups wouldn’t bring peace? Imagine with me, if you will…  a world without Hamas, and without the PLO. Imagine the nations of the world banding together and pounding the crap out of the roving thug bands taht infest that region… the very thing the UN was supposed to do.. and never did… Imagine a world where terrorists are not given legitimacy by crackpot former presidents.  Does anyone not think that attacks against the free nations of the world wouldn’t slow by a substantial margin, under those conditions?  Remember, dear reader; Peace isn’t had by us dropping a warlike stance, but by maintaining it. Peace is a product of winning the war against those who have declared war on US. The reason of course that morons like chomsky don’t recognize that, is because they’d rather the U.S. didn’t win.

  • THIS SAYS IT ALL: [15]ABC NEWS: [15]

In a new video message released on the internet Friday, American-born al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn [16] calls on Muslims living in America to carry out deadly one-man terrorist acts using fully automatic weapons purchased at gun shows, and to target major institutions and public figures.”What are you waiting for?” asks Gadahn in English, and then adds that jihadis shouldn’t worry about getting caught, since so many have been released. “Over these past few years, I’ve seen the release of many, many Mujahideen whom I had never even dreamed would regain their freedom.”

The result of course, of treating al Qaeda as criminals instead of enemy combatants. If we needed a better indication that leftist policy is failing this country and the war against al Qaeda, who as many may recall, declared war on US….  we certainly have it now.
