CNN released this statement today:
“Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well.”
They will broadcast CNN Newsroom from 3-5pm for the foreseeable future.

CNN’s Rick Sanchez is not happy with being made fun of constantly on The Daily Show and Colbert Report. It is from this jumping off point that he absolutely unleashed on Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, and at times his own network, on Pete Dominick’s satellite radio show yesterday.

Talk about biting the hand that feeds him! CNN has been rather patient with Sanchez, who hasn’t exactly produced blockbuster numbers. He’s certainly produced his share [4] of embarrassing moments [5], however, and whoever runs the show at CNN has kept Sanchez on the air through it all.
The question is not way Sanchez was fired. He was incompetent and mentally unstable. The question is why Sanchez lasted so long, Now Sanchez will be replaced by a john.

Ordinarily, I don’t think it’s wise to second-guess the communications or rallying skills of a man who garnered 69 million votes. I don’t know if I ran for office that I’d get 6900 votes. But wow. This is some terrible, terrible communicating.
