Breakfast Scramble

DavidL's Breakfast Scramble
More violence from illegal immigrants in Arizona, from Arizona Republic [1]:

A Pinal County Sheriff’s deputy was shot in the stomach Friday by an undocumented immigrant off Interstate 8, according sheriff’s officials.

Lt. Tami Villar told 12 News that the search and rescue deputy was investigating a load of marijuana in the desert and was confronted by five suspects. She also said the wounded deputy is expected to survive.

Deputies believe at least two people were armed with long guns and at least one handgun. The deputy, whose name was not released, was patrolling alone in what is considered a high-traffic drug and human-smuggling corridor.

Obama, salary caps are for the little people, Michelle [2]:

As usual, Obama’s populist demagoguery is telling in its omissions and selectivity. While he lectures on the morality of salary caps for everyone else, his own cabinet is filled with fabulously wealthy CEOs and statist creatures who have parlayed government employment (a “good” service) into private gain as lobbyists, consultants and advisers (“core responsibilities of the financial system”) and then back again to public stints. Revolving doors have always grown the Beltway economy

Senate ‘rats, papers for legals, Alexander Bolton, Hill [3]:

A plan by Senate Democratic leaders to reform the nation’s immigration laws ran into strong opposition from civil liberties defenders before lawmakers even unveiled it Thursday.

Democratic leaders have proposed requiring every worker in the nation to carry a national identification card with biometric information, such as a fingerprint, within the next six years, according to a draft of the measure.

Let me see, it is a police state to ask illegal immigrants for their green cards.   It is unconstitutional to require voters to produce a picture identification, but Dicky Durbin thinks I should to produce a biometric ID for the privilege of breathing his air.  Uuckyoufay, Dicky!

Gently Mocking the Dim Won, more Tea Party video from Quincy video:

Barry likes to mock his opposition.  Alas for poor Barry these chicks mock better than Barry.   They do it with humor and wit.

‘Rats abandon Israel, Caroline Glick, RCP [4].   Dim Won doesn’t like Israel, or hardly any democracy.

National Journal’s loss, Bitsblog gain? from Peter Wehner, Commentary [5]:

National Journal has let go [6] three of its prized columnists: Jonathan Rauch, Stuart Taylor, and Clive Crook. That’s a big loss for National Journal.  While I often don’t agree with their point of view, all three are intelligent and thoughtful writers. Rauch and Taylor in particular are people whom I read closely and take seriously.

Would be nice catch, but alas a just a wee bit above our pay scale.
