DavidL's Breakfast Scramble

Alas poor Dirty Harry, Jay Newton-Small, Time:

Both Dick Durbin of Illinois and Chuck Schumer of New York say they firmly believe Reid will be reelected, but for several months the number two and three Democrats in the Senate have been trying to one up each other in wooing their colleagues. Schumer’s speeches to the Democratic caucus are filled with shout-outs to all those whose hard work he appreciates. Durbin lavishes praise on a long list of contributing Senators on his bills. They both are racing from issue to issue — health care, jobs, filibusters — trying to position themselves as the next leader for the party.

WaPo covers up for Rahm Emanuel, by Philip Rucker, Washington Post:

It’s no secret that members of Congress broker deals on the treadmill or in the weight room of the House and Senate gyms. But former congressman Eric Massa’s accusation that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel once berated him in the gym’s shower over his vote against President Obama’s budget left Washington watchers wondering how much business politicians conduct while naked.

So just how smart is this reporter, Rucker.   Rahm Emanuel and Eric Massa has and encounter in the House Gym.   So  Rucker goes and interviews six senators and one seating representative.   Some reporting.

More Massa Messa, the dude lived in a male whorehouse, Ace:

Oh, My: Massa Hired Lots of Young Gay Men, Paid Them So Little They Had to Live With Him In His Weird Gay Frathouse

This even beats out Barney Frank, who chauffeur ran the whorehouse.

Some analysis, glamor and presidents:

Moron NY Law Maker Wants Salt Banned in Restaurant Cooking, Lisa Derrick, Fire Dog Lake:

New York Assemblyman Felix Ortiz is one of the most idiotic morans to hold office this decade-and the decade is young, so I’m sure there wil be plenty of contenders. But in the meantine, Ortiz, a Democrat for Brooklyn who is obviously dumber than my dog and gives the party a bad name by being such an utter idiot-wants to ban salt from food preparation.  Bill A 10129 proposes that

I have two modest proposals:

  • One extend the salt ban to all food served in all state government buildings.
  • Two, all restaurants should post a sign:  “We reserve the right to refuse to serve politicians.”
