Forget the fact that Sonia Sotomayor is both a racist and a sexist.   She is also a hack.    Sotomay0r’s so-called degree from Princeton is not worth the paper on which it is printed, quoting Stuart Taylor, Jr., National Journal:

In October 1974, Princeton allowed Sotomayor and two other students to initiate a seminar, for full credit and with the university’s blessings, on the Puerto Rican experience and its relation to contemporary America.

Full credit for a class, she taught herself.  Is this what passes for the richness of life experience?    Chalk another one up for Obama’s vetting department.

Hat tip and more, Michael Goldfarb, Weekly Standard:

I went to Princeton but somehow I never got to teach my own class, or grade my own work. One wonders how Sotomayor judged her work in that class, and whether the grade helped or hindered her efforts to graduate with honors.

Ah Mike, the white man’s burden.

Sotomayor’s self-granted degree does open up some heretofore impossible means of sucking up to the professor.

  1. http://www.princeton.edu/pr/pi.....74.jpgRead that press release from Princeton and explain how you came to the conclusion that Sotomayor taught the class and graded herself.  I’ve had experience with three different universities.  All three had mechanisms for student initiated classes/seminars.

  2. I sure that Princeton would try to maintain that their degrees werre legitimate.  For the fees they charge, they have little choice.

  3. Ahh.. I see.   Willful ignorance rules the day, evidence be damned.  Well done.

  4. Then, prtovide some.
Oh, wait… you DID, didn’t you?

All three had mechanisms for student initiated classes/seminars.

What, exactly is your argument with David’s assertion, then?

  5. she graduated summa cum laude.  (not magna cum laude; summa cum laude) Even if she took a few “gut” classes (hey, who didn’t?), I really don’t think you can get out of a school like Princeton without taking a lot of “real” classes as well.  Talk about hackery.  There are enough real issues to debate without this kind of made-up issue.

  6. If Princeton was willing to whore out graduation credit, giving credit for a class taught, and graded, by the student, they would be more than wlling to whore out the entire degree.  In for a penny, in for a pound.

When an allegations of affirmative actions have been made, Clarence Thomas has always been hostile to the implication.  Whereas Sotomayor things it bigoted to even ask the quesiton.  She acts like a person with something to hide.

More on the not so wise Latina, today or tommorow.
