Meanwhile away from Obamaland, back in the real world,
MOMBASA, Kenya (AP) – Undeterred by U.S. and French hostage rescues that killed five bandits, Somali pirates brazenly hijacked four more ships in the Gulf of Aden, the waterway at the center of the world’s fight against piracy.
Obama has tried giving the pirates four days of the silent treatment. Now he tried babbling. Gotta a plan that works? Not to worry, Victor Davis Hanson, Pajamas Media, who did actually attend college and knows history, not fantasy, has some suggestions, here is one:
1) Hit ’em where they are. If we review how the Romans, Venetians, British, and Americans dealt with piracy, then we arrive at the same conclusion: forces go ashore and destroy docks, ships, and houses of the pirate community-and soon leave. There is no reason to nation-build in Somalia, only to blast apart pirates on the water; and when they strike, tit-for-tat simply to bomb or send a missile at their point of return on land.
Finally BO, if you don’t understand VDH, have somebody who did actually get an education explain the Marine Corps Hymm to you.
