You know, there are some things I can’t get my mind around. A pinup, for example, at age 85.

OK, she hasn’t done any of that in years, I know. And we’re all headed in the same direction, I know that too.  So what am I on about? Well, the holidays are coming up, so I suppose I can use this as an analogy to explain myself;

Remember that cute kid your brother and his wife had? Remember… wasn’t it just a few years ago come Christmas, you held him, and fed him, and snuggled him while he blew formula all over your brand new Christmas sweater? Cute kid. Well, that cute kid is now 25, has a wife and a kid of his own. But you’ll always, no matter how old each of you gets, picture him as the kid with the bottle in his moosh.

22370462It’s with that sense of disbelief and disconnection, that I pass along reports that Bettie Page has died. Yes, at age 85.

If you don’t know who she was, you might want to research the name.

  1. Page starred in a few mainstream movies too, didn’t she?

  2. I dunno, but I doubt it.  Here’s a list. IMDB is great for this kind of thing. She did do some mainstream TV stuff. US STEEL HOUR and Jackie Gleason’s show. I gather the latter was possible because she was making the trip to Miami every year, through the period.
