The suppoed “Constitutional Scholar” is in for a rude awaking on January 20. video:

The total powers of the President as articulated by Article II, of the Constitution of the United States:

Section 2. The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments.

The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire at the End of their next Session.

Section 3. He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper; he shall receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers; he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States.

Section 4. The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

Do you the word rule, or synonym thereof, anywhere?   Well neither do I.

If you are not an employee of the federal government, the President has utterly no authority to rule over you. The President is the head of the Executive Branch of the Federal government and not Lord, sovereign or even Messiah. I am a citizen of the United States, not a subject.  Obama’s title of office will be President, not King.

Hell no, I will not submit!   Will you?

Addendum:

Art Smith, opines:

DavidL at BitsBlog takes this at face value, which is not in the least unfair.  He characterizes this as a signal that Obama himself holds his sense of power in office at a higher level than the Constitution calls for.

I’m sincerely hoping that this little more than an unfortunate slip, perhaps even Freudian in nature (or not), by someone answering an already unsettling question.  Brokaw’s “Are you gonna try to be a shadow government?” should be raising a few eyebrows as well.  It piques my interest that a (supposedly) respected member of the press would ask a question like that as if a shadow government makes sense.

I admit that I was steamed, when I posted this last night.   Art’s response was cool, collected and rational.    However a good night sleep, after a long day of hiking, has not abated my alarm.

Was this a mere unartful word?   Could be, Team Obama is rather proficient at unartful words.

A couple of points.

One, Barack Obama professes to be a Constitutional Scholar, a claim of which I am suspicious.  If Obama holds himself to a Constitutional Scholar, I ask for a higher standard of exactness from the One and not a far lower one.    We can and should expect more from a professed Constitutional Scholar.

Two, BO has a Messiah complex.   He has babbled about changing the World.  BO has allowed his scyophants’ Messiah meme to go unchallenged.  In other words, Valerie Jarrett unartful remarks are not the first indication of BO’s Messiah complex by rather just the lastest in a long series of omenous signs.

BO has help a long string of jobs.   At no point was any job ever big enough to statisfy his ego.   It seems only prudent to assume that the role of Chief Executive of the United States, as defined by the Constitution, will not sate BO’s lust for power.   Listen to Michelle Obama on a rant.  She talks that  When Barack is President, he will require.

If BO does not have a Messiah complex, he will have four years to prove me wrong.    Are we as a nation willing to take the risk that BO merely thinks of himself a mere mortal human being?
