Could Illinois Governor Blagojevich suffer the same fate as convicted former Governor George Ryan? Sources tell CBS 2 News Chicago that Federal agents claim to have enough evidence to indict Blagojevich on fraud and conspiracy charges. However, the report says the investigators aren’t the ones who make the decision to prosecute. That would be up to U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald and the Justice Department in Washington.
This set of charges is, essentially, based on testimony [2]taken at the trial [3]of Tony Rezko. Rezko, Blagojevich, Obama, are all names that keep coming up in that trial. Blagojevich,is an Obama supporter [4], of course, but more than this… the two apparently have had a working relationship as close as that between Obama and confessed bomber William Ayers.
And of course the mainstream is not paying attention [5]to this story. Gee, I can’t think of why they wouldn’t, huh? Perhaps they’re afraid of what they’ll find?
Personally, I’m waiting for Obama to make the now hackneyed statement that this is not the Blagojevich he thought he knew.
