Betty Friedan is dead. Gloria Steinem is seveny-four and gender feminists are as relevant as dinosaurs. Lisa Schiffren, National Review, expalns why:
NOW will be endorsing Barack Obama for the Presidency of the United States. The committee carefully considered other options, but was especially impressed by Obama’s ability to knock off Senator Hillary Clinton in the primaries; his willingness to use sexist language and allusions when necessary, and his inability to overcome his personal feelings and put Mrs. Clinton — who, by the way, is a woman with a long feminist history, but also a major vote-getter — on the Democratic ticket
The NAG’s claim to represent all women. Well I suppose all women have been born. Yet most women don’t hate men.

Jeez, call a spade a spade will you. Feminism is about giving women privilages, nothing else, and if you don’t do this you are a traitor. Are you one of the 90% of Americans that are only discovering this NOW?

“Yet most woeen don’t hate men.”
That is seriously dubious. Especially in Western, Anglosphere society.

Here’s the problem; The cause of feminism had nothing at all to do with the rights of women, and everything to do with pushing a leftist philosophy.
There is nothing, no example I can think of, that proves this point better than the reaction of the feminist leadership to Sarah Palin, and their support of Barrack Obama.

Oh, I disagree. Modern Nagism was best defined by Nina Burleigh, who promised to give B.J. a Lewinsky for keeeping abortion legal.
