Scottish Law Senator Drinks the Kool-Aid

Senator Arlen “Scottish Law” Spector in letter to N.F.L. Commissioner Roger Goodell wants to know why the league destroyed the evidence of the New England Patriot spying on the New York Jets, from brnaz, Empty Wheel [1]:

“That requires an explanation,” Specter said. “The N.F.L. has a very preferred status in our country with their antitrust exemption. The American people are entitled to be sure about the integrity of the game. It’s analogous to the C.I.A. destruction of tapes. Or any time you have records destroyed.”

No Senator, the NFL has no obligation to explain her internal affairs to the state.  We are not Canada, not yet.  There are no constitutional issues at stake.  There are no violation of federal laws alleged.  In short, Senator Spector, there is nothing for which you have any need to investigate.
