Mrs. Clinton’s last stand, via Byron York, National Review [1]:
On a conference call, top strategist Mark Penn just told reporters that in the next two weeks Hillary Clinton will go after Barack Obama on the issue of who is better qualified to be commander-in-chief – and Penn suggested that Clinton would be a better commander of the nation’s armed forces than both Obama and John McCain. “She is the only person in this race who is both ready to be commander-in-chief and would end the Iraq war and start to bring troops home within 60 days, compared to both Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain,” Penn told reporters.
John McCain, via Don Surber [2]:
“The most important obligation of the next President is to protect Americans from the threat posed by violent extremists who despise us, our values and modernity itself. They are moral monsters, but they are also a disciplined, dedicated movement driven by an apocalyptic zeal, which celebrates murder, has access to science, technology and mass communications, and is determined to acquire and use against us weapons of mass destruction. The institutions and doctrines we relied on in the Cold War are no longer adequate to protect us in a struggle where suicide bombers might obtain the world’s most terrifying weapons.”
Mrs. Clinton has no military experience. No understanding of the military. No respect for anything military, and in the eight years of the Clinton adminstraton they never once used our military to protect our nation’s vital national security interests. Instead the Clintons attacked places like Haiti, Yugoslavia, Somalia and the Koresh compound.
