A FOIA request by the AP to NASA has uncovered that the space agency has begun to ponder important things about a trip to Mars, such as what happens if one of the astronauts dies on the three year mission? According to this article [2], they haven’t thought about sexual relations between astronauts on the three year journey even with the recent events concerning former astronaut Lisa Nowak.
I’d say your average Cub Scout could figure a solution to NASA’s problem in say five minutes. Given political correctness, NASA may never be able to resolve their problem.
