I’ve been dealing with a lot of trackback spam of late. It hasn’t really been showing up on the site, but it is filling my inbox with all kinds of nonsense.
So, I’ve reprogrammed the system.  Trackbacks, have new rules… If there isn’t a real link to Bitsblog, from a blog that I recognize, it flags the track back to my attention, but won’t post it.

Also, I’ve added a automatic comment closer. This bit of programming closes comments on a per-post basis, after a set number of days.  This will prevent comment spam, for the most
I am also now automatically checking the ISP of IP addresses that submit to BitsBlog. appropriate action will be taken based on that.
In short, if you’re a spammer, hang it up. I’m done screwing around with you.
