This is what he (St Andrew the Excitable) just said to Cooper:
“To my mind, the war that we’re in has been framed by Osama bin Laden as Islam against the West. If we withdrew and the war became Sunni versus Shia, it becomes the narrative: Islam against itself.”
This brings to my mind the old adage about never interfering with your enemies’ mistakes.

The ‘one thing’ is, Billy, that when the Lion gets hungry again, whom does the lion go after, given that there are no more branches of Islam to go after? And I dunno about you, Billy, but I for one have a great deal of problem leaving millions to the grip of BinLaden. That’s the problem with Saint Andrew the Excitable… He’s a convincing speaker, but he’s nonetheless usually dead wrong. As in this case.
