Boortz today has an update on that Cessna Pilot who wandered into protected airspace in DC causing that evacuation.

We learn today that the Homeland Security people were about 15 seconds away from shooting this pilot down.  Fifteen seconds from death.  All his fault, right?

Well … for those of you who weren’t listening to the Boortz Information Overload hour yesterday … we heard something rather interesting from Jamie Dupree.  Those two frequencies that the Blackhawk crewmembers gave to the Cessna pilot?  There was nobody monitoring those frequencies.  Nobody to hear the Cessna call … nobody to respond.

If this one’s true… (and it should be noted that the source has been reliable in the past)… then some heads need to roll… publicly.

Granted, this pilot’s a screwup from the word “go”… and pulling his ticket was more than justified… but its starting to sound like there’s some other problems to be addressed here, too.

Think about this; A civilian plane was almost shot down, and several federal buildings were evac’d because nobody was even on the radio channels that the pilot was instrcted to go to… Including, interestingly, the interceptor planes who would be charged with the task of shooting down the pilot in 10 or 15 seconds.

More as I find… but I gotta tell ya… this one stinks.
