MSNBC [1] is reportng that Steinbrenner is offering Pedro Martinez $50m to come over from the Sox. Pedro for his part, is holding out for $60M. It’s perhaps a measure of how much last year’s season stung the Yankees, that Steinbrenner is seriously considering it.
My gtreaction is to play this up against my comments from last Sunday regarding Basketball, and the death thereof, and wonder a bit. I may post something on this later if I get a chance to sort this one out.
