Well, now we have an idea why the Democrats refuse to take seriously the tax evasion charges against their own…  Remember when Timothy Geithner… the guy supposedly handing out budgets, turned out to have not payed his taxes in years? The left leapt to his defense. Now we know why. Seems he’s far from alone. […]

Of course, the White House anticipates that the American people will learn to love this bill[Obama Care] so much that repeal will soon become politically impossible. In their view, seniors will learn to love the cuts to Medicare, small business owners will learn to love the employer mandate, and we will all learn to love […]

In the end, this unsustainable bill jeopardizes the very thing it was supposed to fix – our health care system. Somewhere along the way we forgot that health care reform is about doctors and patients, not the IRS and politicians. Sarah Palin, via Jack Fowler, National Review.

Welcome, one and all to the most intense nightly read anywhere on the sphere… The Bitsblog Nightly Ramble DANGEROUS EXPANSION : The WSJ says the House Healthcare bill dangerously expands IRS power. Well, yes. Of course it does.  When we talk about expanding powers for the Federal government, how can we help but talk about […]

healthcare-reformWe are going to try and keep it simple on this one.

The bill stinks.

Put aside the fact that it expands Medicare.

Put aside the fact that it establishes coverage mandates (you will be forced to buy health insurance somehow).

Put aside the fact that it is a colossal power grab for an industry that has been well managed by the states for a long time.

Put aside the fact that it will increase taxes.

Put aside the fact that it will dramatically increase the cost of insurance for everyone (and they sold this to us originally as being needed to stop the soaring cost of insurance!).

Put aside the fact that it will wreak havoc on the tax code, balloon the size of the IRS and increase the size of corporate tax management teams (which will increase consumer costs in all industries).

Put aside the fact that this bill is overloaded with earmarks… in a bill that was intended to bring equality in health care.

Put aside all of those issues and focus on the one true deception that will be broadcast throughout the weekend and coming weeks: that the Congressional Budget Office has determined that the bill will have a reducing impact the deficit.

The lie here is that although the Federal deficit will […]

The purpose of an Army has been described as kill people and break things.   As such people who excel at leading units dedicated to such tasks, killing people and breaking things, are not noted for nuance.   Case in point,  William T. Sherman:  [W]ar is Hell.  Ralph Peter, Lt.  Colonel, United States Army (retired) was […]

There’s a  number of people last night heaping praise on Obama’s speech at Ft Hood yesterday.  Predictably,  Marc Armbinder is one of them: Today, at Ft. Hood. I guarantee: they’ll be teaching this one in rhetoric classes. It was that good. My gloss won’t do it justice. Yes, I’m having a Chris Matthews-chill-running-up-my-leg moment, but […]

There are lots of conflicting reports on the number of victims of  Nidal Malik Hasan and his bloody ramage at Ft Hood yesterday.  the most reliable reports that I’ve found suggest that there’s 13 dead as of this morning and some 30 others are hospitalized. As usual, I didn’t bother trying to keep up with […]

I know legend has that the American writer Edgar Allan Poe died a drunk on the streets of Baltimore in 1849. Yet in the spirit of first Ronald Reagan, and now Jake Tapper, trust but verify, can we be so sure?   Poe does bears a certain resemblance to Robert Stacy McCain. So please consider the […]

Eric, did you notice that while we were napping a couple of rednecks sneaked  into the state?   And boy does the National Republican Congressional Committee(NRCC) have grits all over their faces. The NRCC spent $900,00 in an attempt to install RINO Dede Scozzafava in Congress.    The opposition  consisted of Tea Party conservatives, and redneck bloggers. […]
