Green is the New White

“It’s not easy being Green.”

-Kermit

It’s become almost cliche by this point that the left tends to eat its own. One can never be politically correct enough for these animals. Case in point: [1]

The Muppet Show appears to be the latest victim of political correctness with new warnings over its historic content.

The adventures of Kermit the Frog, Animal, Miss Piggy and friends now come with an alert about ‘offensive content’ and can only be seen on an adult account.

And why?

Viewers are greeted with the disclaimer: ‘This programme includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now.

‘Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together.’

The warning is believed to refer to Muppet characters designed as stereotypes of Native Americans, Arabs and East Asians.

Seems like just a few years ago the left was screaming bloody murder about Republicans wanting to kill off Big Bird.

Turns out though, that the left, when it runs out of actual opponents to chew on, react rather like cuttlefish. Some of you will remember these lines from a movie which will eventually be deemed offensive as well… (Also, oddly enough, from the realm of Disney.)

Cuttlefish. Eh?

Let us not, dear friends, forget our dear friends the cuttlefish… flipping glorious little sausages. Pen them up together, and they will devour each other without a second thought..

Similarly, what happens when the left runs out of targets? They turn on each other, without so much as a second thought, or a first one for that matter.

In reality, that’s the essence of political correctness. It’s a brainless knee-jerk reaction.

Another example, Facebook has decided that they dislike anyone asking “Do we still call it “tranny fluid” or is it ” non binary shift juice?” And have started putting people in Facebook jail for a distributing a meme to that effect.

It would be easy enough to say… A rather simple conclusion to draw… that the only people we are allowed to laugh at, that the only people we are allowed to ridicule in any fashion, are white heterosexual Christian males. Outside of that narrow scope everything is out of bounds.

Eventually though, even erstwhile fellow travelers end up becoming targets to such things. Which, in turn, leads one to the understanding that it was never about anything but the power to dictate other people’s thoughts.

Being offended, you see, is political power these days.
