Final Take on the Debate, Round One

In my emails, the discussion keeps coming up as to whether or not the first debate is going to move the meter left or right. In response, I will make two points about that.

First, I don’t think Joe Biden did himself any favors with his performance. He spent the majority of the time on his heels, apparently listening for direction on that wire was wearing. (Shown here)

The lesson there, apparently, is that Joe Biden always does what the voices tell him to do. Thing is, their direction wasn’t all that advantageous either.

Even if he had managed to follow their direction precisely it wouldn’t have helped.

Ask for Donald Trump, he missed a few opportunities which I’m actually disappointed about. That said, I’m not sure that made a whole bunch of difference. What his performance at the debate showed (and quite clearly) was that what we have in Donald Trump is the scrapper that the rank and file GOP has been demanding since Reagan and not getting it. Someone who is willing to fight for what his supporters believe in, come hell or high water. There are some who suggest that this attitude is not presidential, but the fact is this is what his supporters, the rank and file GOP has been demanding of the GOP. That’s why Jeb Bush didn’t get the nomination and John McCain and Mitt Romney didn’t get the White House. Alas!, that the establishment GOP still hasn’t learned that lesson.

At the bottom line Trump managed to solidify his base and Biden didn’t manage to bring anybody over to his side.

Ask for Chris Wallace, he has certainly managed to earn his stripes as a never Trump Democrat, but he hasn’t done Fox News any favors. He managed to walk all over the “fair and balanced” moniker with his spikes on. It was an absolutely shameful and inexcusable performance and he should be called to account for it. And then he had the audacity to blame Donald Trump [1] for his mishandling of the whole thing period again, shameful, but a typical democrat. Point your finger at somebody else.

By the way Rasmussen is reporting on my audio channels that post- debate Trump is up by another two points.
