An asshat from Oregon wanted to get noticed and become famous.   So he studied mass killings and went to a designated free-fire zone,  a/k/a gun-free safety zone, to make people dead and to make himself famous..   John Hinderaker, Power Line takes note of the problem:

It’s Time to Stop Feeding the Delusions of Mass Murderers

Last night I wrote that the most effective measure to reduce the number of mass shootings would be to stop publicizing the names and purported grievances of perpetrators. The principal motivation of these deranged criminals is to become famous-as they see it, to go down in history. The Umpqua Community College murderer confirmed this once again when he wrote, prior to his rampage, “The more people you kill, the more you’re in the limelight.”

Whereas the Associated Press becomes part of the problem:

Oregon gunman was Army dropout who studied mass shooters

ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) – The 26-year-old gunman who opened fire in a community college English class, killing nine, was an Army boot camp dropout who studied mass shooters before becoming one himself. A day after the rampage in an Oregon timber town, authorities said [asshat] wore a flak jacket and brought at least six guns and five ammunition magazines to the school. Investigators found another seven guns at the apartment he shared with his mother. Also Friday, officials released the names, ages and brief biographical information about the nine dead, who ranged in age from 18 to 67 and included several freshmen and a teacher.

Want to be famous.albeit dead, go to a nearby designed free-fire zone, kill a handful or more of disarmed victims. You work is done. The Associated Press will do the rest of the heavy lifting for you.

Want to do some thing about school shootings. Tell the idiots at AP, and the rest of tle lame stream, to quit glorifying mass murders.
