Nightly Ramble: Welcome to Hope And Change

Tonight I’m outside Buffalo New York, in a place I have been many times before. from here I’ll run to Batavia New York in the morning, and then from there probably down to Pennsylvania and New York City.

Kind of a lackluster day, actually. Nothing tremendous to report. Or is Paul McCartney once wrote, it’s just another day. Welcome to my world.

So let’s make sure we understand where we are. Race relations according to a CBS New York Times poll are the worst they’ve been in years. [2] As if we needed a poll to tell us that. And black columnist Thomas Sowell has no doubt about where the fault lies [3].

The “legacy of slavery” argument is not just an excuse for inexcusable behavior in the ghettos. In a larger sense, it is an evasion of responsibility for the disastrous consequences of the prevailing social vision of our times, and the political policies based on that vision, over the past half century. Anyone who is serious about evidence need only compare black communities as they evolved in the first 100 years after slavery with black communities as they evolved in the first 50 years after the explosive growth of the welfare state, beginning in the 1960s. You would be hard-pressed to find as many ghetto riots prior to the 1960s as we have seen just in the past year, much less in the 50 years since a wave of such riots swept across the country in 1965.

Just so.

Baltimore, and the other cities with them, are the result of the same failures that we saw attached to the Great Society of LBJ. Same big government policies, same big government failures.

We are being lied to about any kind of an economic recovery happening. In terms of helping Americans, Obama’s economic policies are an abject failure. [4] Take home pay is going down like a stone, texts are going the opposite direction just as fast. Yet, despite this huge tax increase that’s been levied on the American people, more is being demanded, of the very people that are supposed to be supplying jobs. Those with disposable income. As a result less jobs will be created, net pay will go down even further, and the vicious cycle will continue.

Our friends don’t trust us, and our enemies don’t fear us. Our supposed commander in chief has demonstrably lied to us about how close a sworn enemy, Iran, is to obtaining nuclear weapons.

Those who understand that man-made climate change is a scam, are called science deniers. But what of the global war warmers who are chasing out real scientists? [5]

We now have 18 million homes that are vacant in this country, with another 3 million homes on foreclosure lists.

We now have 48 million people on food stamps.

We have 15 million unemployed people. A good deal more then that who are underemployed, and a good deal more than that that have given up looking for work altogether.

The last I checked we had three million people that were homeless. Given the way things have been going, that figure has probably gone up since then.

Its to the point where the Democrat feel the need to silence any opposing views, or for that matter any opposing facts [6].

You tell me, people. Are we better off today than we were when the chosen one landed on Pennsylvania Avenue?

Welcome dear friends to hope and change.

And what are the Democrat offering? Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. The mind boggles.

And down the road I go. I’ll see you tomorrow.
