STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A transgender man who claims he was barred from using the men’s room at Lyons Pool in Tompkinsville says the encounter with Parks Department workers left him feeling “disgraced” and “humiliated.”
“I’m no different than anyone else,” Bryan Ellicott, 24, a former Staten Islander, said during a Manhattan press conference on Tuesday, a day after filing suit against the city.

What is the basis for Ellicot’s claim that “I’m no different than anyone else?” Normally people who use the men’s room are well men. Ellicot is not. That makes her different.
