Barrack Husein Obama extends congratulations to the purported new President Elect of Egypt, Mohamed Morsi via Stable Hand, Jawa Report [1]:
“We look forward to working together with President-elect Morsi and the government he forms, on the basis of mutual respect, to advance the many shared interests between Egypt and the United States,” press secretary Jay Carney said in a statement.
In there own private world, the Obami are crediting the Islamists with heretofore unknown qualities, like respect for women and religious tolerance . Is it too much to suppose the Obami expect Mohamed Morsi first act as President will be to legalize same-sex marriage?
Mean while back in the land of the sober and the sane, Professor William A. Jacobson, Legal Insurrection [2], notes:
[T]here is a video uploaded to YouTube which has been embedded at many blogs which purports to be President-elect Mohamed Morsi leading a large crowd chanting about marching on Jerusalem. While I can’t be postive, that looks like Cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi [3] (referred to in some of my posts linked above) not Morsi. Memri says it’s cleric Safwat Higazi at a Morsi campaign rally [4]. This doesn’t change the nature of the Muslim Brotherhood, but it’s important to be accurate.
None dare call the Obami smart Jerusalem is the historic capital of the State of Israel. I expect the Jews will defend it.
