Breakfast Scramble: Speaking Truth to Power

DavidL's Breakfast Scramble

Two takes on Dumbo’s presser, first the literate, from Yuval Levin, National Review [1]:

It all had the feel of a childish tantrum by a person who desperately wishes he were living in a different reality — one in which he is the heroic man of action and his opponents are irresponsible and weak. But the fact is, the president and congressional Democrats have so far utterly failed to offer any path out of our fiscal problems — problems that they have greatly exacerbated.

Next the illiterate, via Doug Powers @ Michelle Malkin [2]:

In a related story, Mark Halperin has apologized [3] for using Sen. Durbin’s first name [4] to describe what he thought about Obama’s press conference performance yesterday

More reax, RS McCain, Other McCain [5]:

Halperin’s resort to locker-room language may be regrettable, but “kind of a dick” is really rather a mild criticism of Obama’s outrageous assertion [6] that Republicans are “willing to compromise your kids’ safety so some corporate-jet owner can get a tax break.”

Halperin’s remark is all the more regrettable in that it distracts from Obama’s comment, which was as false as it was offensive.

I mean it not like Halperin should have been suspended for calling Dumbo, b/k/a Barack Obama a dick.    After all,  a dick serves two very good and useful functions, both of the pleasure.   Dumbo serves on one use function, being used for sport.

Halperin gets suspended, but Rachel Maddow , and other PMSNBC miscreants routinely refers to members of the Tea Party as teabaggers
