DavidL's Breakfast Scramble
How dumb is Dumbo, from Monty Pelerin, American Thinker:

Two hypotheses are often cited to explain why things have gotten so much worse:

  1. Obama is incompetent.
  2. Obama knows what he is doing and is deliberately destroying the country.

These hypotheses are not mutually exclusive.  Evidence is consistent with either or a combination of both.  The remainder of this article deals only with the first.  Readers should not assume that the second is unimportant, inoperable, or impossible.

Dr. Thomas Sowell wrote about “seductive beliefs” in a two-part article (second part here).  He touched on some of the incorrect beliefs guiding President Obama.  In short, Obama is an ideologue, narrowly (and poorly) educated.  As a result, he is ignorant in the ways of the world.

Dumbo b/k/a Barack Obama may or may not be God given dumb.   That is he may not have been born stupid.  However Obama is  profoundly uneducated,  and uneducatable.

The rise and fall of Algore, from Walter Russell Mead Russell, American Interest:

That Al Gore’s definitive statement on the crisis of the climate change movement appeared in the back pages of Rolling Stone magazine rather than in a more prominent and prestigious location is one sign of the decline in his reputation.  At the peak of the climate movement, such an essay might have appeared in Foreign Affairs or any of the world’s leading newspapers.  If he had chosen Rolling Stone to reach a hipper crowd, the article would likely have run as the cover story and ignited a global debate.

It is hard to believe a theory, anthropogenic global warming whose chief advocate is a buffoon, Algore, who acts as if his theory were not true,  as it is not.

Bravo for Bachmann, from Greg Sargent  Washington Post:

This morning, Michele Bachmann confirmed on Good Morning America that she could support abolishing the Federal minimum wage. That’s an actual substantive position that offers a window into Bachmann’s ideology and worldview. But judging by the media chatter today, her John Wayne flub is still being widely viewed as far more newsworthy.

With official unemployment over nine percent and black unemployment over sixteen percent, it is long time to admit that the theory of a minimum wage has not worked.

Bird and Bees, from Jill, Pundit  & Pundette:

A little pop quiz for you (and take care — it’s trickier than it seems):

How many sexes are there?

If you answered “two” (as in male and female) you’re a hopeless old fogey. The correct, up-to-date answer, according to an Oakland, CA, public elementary school, is “more than two.”

As attributed to Abraham Lincoln:   If you call a tail a leg, how many legs does a dog have?    Four.   Calling a tail a leg does not make it a leg.   Like wise calling various gender identifications sexes does not make them sexes.   There are but two sexes,  male and female    Hint the only two capable of begetting anything when used in conjunction.
