Breakfast Scramble (Thursday)

DavidL's Breakfast Scramble
Dumbo’s Delusions, Peter Wehner, is searching for a word to describe Barack Obama, but doesn’t quite find it.  The word is not contradictions but rather delusions, from Commentary [1]:

It appears to me that Obama is a man of tremendous internal contradictions. He fancies himself as a post-partisan, post-ideological figure who alone can elevate public discourse. He obviously took great pride in presenting himself as America’s Socrates during the presidential campaign.

At the same time, Mr. Obama is a man of unusual arrogance who, if things don’t go his way, becomes prickly. He lashes out. And he begins to feel sorry for himself. Notoriously thin-skinned and accustomed to worshipful treatment by those around him (including the press), Obama is now clearly disquieted.

Obama has been lied to for so long that he thinks that he is brilliant  and has come to expect that his supposed brilliance seemly be taken for granted.

Dumbo poops on taxpayers, Obama signs Pigford II scam.from Christian Science Monitor [2]:

President Obama intends to sign a $1.15 billion settlement for black farmers on Wednesday, bringing to a close what he has called “a painful chapter in American history” – discrimination that led to blacks losing their grip on the land.

[…]

The Pigford II legislation is the second phase of a lawsuit filed by North Carolina farmer Timothy Pigford, who joined with 400 black farmers to complain about USDA loan policies between 1983 and 1987. In 2006, then-Senator Obama sponsored a version of the current bill, opening up a second settlement process to black farmers and farm families whose claims were caught up in bureaucracy and congressional wrangling over funding.

“Black farmers have waited many years for this day – the end of denied justice, the dawn of a new era of equality,” said John Boyd, president of the National Black Farmers Association, in a statement on Wednesday.

So who was president between 1983 and 1987, none other than B.J. Clinton.  So four hundred black farmers file a class action lawsuit against the Clinton Department of Agriculture.  The USDA then settles the case out of court and puts onus taxpayers.    The taxpayer on the hook for reparations to more black farmers than there were black farmers in the first place.

Sorry Sir John, from John Lennon’s last interview, from Associated Press [3]:

“These critics with the illusions they’ve created about artists — it’s like idol worship,” he said. “They only like people when they’re on their way up …  I cannot be on the way up again.

“What they want is dead heroes, like Sid Vicious and James Dean. I’m not interesting in being a dead (expletive) hero. .. So forget ’em, forget ’em.”

Sorry Sir John, singing songs does not make one a hero.   A hero is a person who risks his life for a noble cause.   As for as I know, you did not qualify.

Olberbite smacks Dumbo,  Keith Olbermann does his normal hysterical.  The difference is this time Barack Obama is the target of  Olberbites staged rage.   Still is is amusing,  Stacy has the details and video, if you are so inclined, from Other McCain [4].
