Breakfast Scramble

DavidL's Breakfast Scramble
Obama’s one trick pony, Carol E. Lee, Politico: [1]

President Barack Obama is trying to ride the wave of anti-incumbency by taking on an unpopular politician steeped in the partisan ways of Washington.

It doesn’t matter that George W. Bush left office 16 months ago.

The White House’s mid-term election strategy is becoming clear – pit the Democrats of 2010 against the Republicans circa 2006, 2008 and 2009, including Bush.

Bring it on Barry!

Obama World View, sorry Dan [2], from Austin Hill, Townhall [3]:

Our nation is good, U.S. citizenship is distinct, and national sovereignty is non-negotiable. In a nutshell, this is the mindset, the worldview, of the citizen class. It has nothing to do with one’s ethnicity, or socioeconomic background, or sexual orientation, or gender. It has everything to do with one’s most deeply held beliefs.

[…]

And this why President Obama has enraged the citizen class. He has planted the seeds of doubt regarding our nation’s goodness, and has implied that U.S. citizenship, and national sovereignty, are irrelevant.

‘Pubs can’t lose em all:

HONOLULU (AP [4]) — Republicans scored a midterm election victory Saturday when Honolulu City Councilman Charles Djou won a Democratic-held House seat in Hawaii in the district where President Obama grew up — the latest triumph for the GOP as it looks to take back control of Congress.

Djou’s victory was a blow to Obama and other Democrats who could not rally around a candidate and find away to win a congressional race that should have been a cakewalk. The seat had been held by a Democrat for nearly 20 years and is located where Obama was born and spent most of his childhood.

Getting less than a majority of the votes does not strike me as impressive, nor harbinger of holding the seat come November.  However the increase in republican vote total was impressive.

Napolitano can’t win any, by Chris Ingalls, KING 5 News [5]

EDMONDS, Wash. – The KING 5 Investigators have learned that an illegal immigrant accused of raping a woman in Edmonds Sunday has been deported nine times. That’s much more than previously reported.

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement won’t comment on the case of Jose Lopez Madrigal. But KING 5 got the information through confidential sources and documents

Memo to Ms. Napoiitano, what ever you are doing, if anything at all, to secure our nation’s border is not working.   Your resignation would be very much appreciated.    Take your de facto boss, Eric Holder, with you when you leave.

Theater critic flops, Frank Rich, New York Stimes [6]:

Paul is articulate and hard-line. When he says he is antigovernment, he means it. Unlike McConnell, he wants to end all earmarks [7], including agricultural subsidies for a state that thrives on them. (He does vow to preserve Medicare payments [8], however; they contribute to his income as an ophthalmologist.) He wants to shut down the Department of Education [9] and the Federal Reserve. Though a social conservative who would outlaw all abortions, he believes the federal government should leave drug enforcement to the states [10].

Congresscritters are legislators who supposed to write laws, not executives who supposed to administer the spending of money.    The constitution provides the federal government no legitimate role in eduction and the Department of Education serves no known useful purpose.   Abolish thee DoE and Rich’s job at the Siimes.

“But I want you to know that what you’re doing is making a sacrifice for the next generation.” — Obama June 2009 on the auto bailouts

Welcome to Club Bareback, Domino, Hyacinth Gir [13]l

Buy your own damn condoms, you ungrateful little brats [14]. And I love this part especially: “These condoms are too small for my enormous manhood, that’s why I’ve had to bareback it. It’s all your fault that I’m a disease-ridden slut.”

What do you call couples who use birth control?  Parents.

Why God created reporterettes, here [15].   Because story angles like this drive me crazy.    Who cares,  and why should anybody care?   All fifty-three percenters  are welcome to attempt to explain why.
