After the first day or so of the Michael Jackson coverage I felt the same way. Hard to believe they haven’t even held a funeral for him yet. Thankfully, with beautiful weather and time off, I’ve had much better things to do than watch the excessive coverage of the freakshow that tomorrow will overrun Los Angeles.

Congressman King’s entirely appropriate comments caused the Puffington Post [3] to soil their nappies:
Over the weekend, King said that the media had gone far over the top in glorifying Jackson, who he deemed a “low-life” pervert who “may have been a good singer” and “did some dancing.”
Now, an ActBlue fundraising site has been set up by “A fan of Michael Jackson” titled “Michael Jackson Fans AGAINST Peter King.”
Puffington is both promoting and linking to a partisan fund raising site. So much for the pretense of being a legitiimte news source.
Meanwhile in some alternative universe, Representative Sheila Jackson Lee overloads her three functioning brain cell, from Eric Zimmermann, Hill [4]:
We recently reported that Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Tex.) had introduced a resolution to honor Michael Jackson. (Oddly enough, the legislation was referred to the House Foreign Affairs Committee.)
The full text of that resolution has been published, and it’s….long.
