My first president was Harry S. Truman, not that I actually remember Harry as President. However what I like and admire about Harry is that he knew the difference between Harry the haberdasher from Missouri and the 33rd President of the United States.
Alas poor Barry is no Harry. Unlike Truman, Obama the Narcissistis is unable to tell the difference between a community organizer from Chicago and the 44th President of the United States. from Glenn Reynolds, Instapundit and Jammie Wearing Fools, the one’s, a/k/a Barack Obama, reaction to Senator Charles Grassley’s assessment that the one’s proposed nationalization of health care is not going well in Congress:
‘You’re going to destroy my presidency.’
Barry, while you may be President, it is not your presidency. The office is that of the People. Thatn is, Obama is entitlted to be President until his term office expires and he remains the good grace of the American People. For the presidency belongs not to Obama but rather to the People. Obama is not our lord, master and king. He is our servant. He can, and will, be replaced. The republic will survive
Isn’t it rather early in his term to be worried about his legacy?
As JWF indicated, Jim DeMint’s Waterloo comment apparently strikes closer to home than the one cares to admit.
