NY GOP Flips State Senate

It was nice while is lasted.   New York State is back to its norm, a divided government.   In a surprize move, the New York State reppublican regained control of the state senate, James M. Odato, Rick Kaelin and Irene Jay Liu, Times-Union [1]:

ALBANY — In a dramatic late afternoon overthrow of the Senate leadership, Senate Republicans joined by two dissident Democrats took control of the upper chamber and installed Sen. Pedro Espada as president.

Minority Leader Dean Skelos, R-Rockville Center, was returned to the position of majority leader, the post he held until Democrats took control of the chamber after the November election.

This does not seem to bode well for blind man David Paterson’s hold on power.    On the other hand, it can not but held the besieged New York State taxpayer.
