BO’s Book Deal Reeks

As Eric rambled [1]:

The Book: You’ve heard about Obama’s half billion dollar kids book deal [2], right?  How many copies are being sold to school districts on the taxpayer dime, I wonder?  And he didn’t even write the bloody thing. Steven Green has more to say on that subject.  [3]

Jim McElhatton and Christina Bellantoni, Washington Times [2]:

As he empathized with recession-weary Americans, President Obama arranged in the days just before he took office to secure a $500,000 advance for a children’s book project, a disclosure report shows. The terms of the book deal were disclosed in a Senate financial disclosure report filed Tuesday.

This is not a book deal,   It is  a bribe.   Barack Obama can”t speak without a teleprompter.   Obama certainly did not write  Dreams of Our Fathers.   Do you know of a single author who is captive to his teleprompter?   Neither do I.

Obama is sure the heck incapable of writing any book.   Half million dollars for a book Obama didn’t write and will not edit.   Obama the frat boy, is too busy partying and campaigning to actually edit anything.   I question if Obama can even read a book.

Given that Obama is not capable of having actually written the book and the advance has every appearance of a bribe, Given that the so-called book deal is for a school book, and the money will be coming from school disticts getting stimulus dollars, it is only appropriate for the people, that is us, to recoup our money.   Fortunately there is a simply solution, a one hundred percent retrobactive tax on the Obama’s book  royalies.   After all the blokes at AIG did actually show up for work.    Congress should tax Obama book royalties at one hundred percent.  Tom Raum:

WASHINGTON (AP) [4] – Denouncing a “squandering of the people’s money,” lawmakers voted decisively Thursday to impose a 90 percent tax on millions of dollars in employee bonuses paid by troubled insurance giant AIG and other bailed-out companies.

The House vote was 328-93. Similar legislation has been introduced in the Senate and President Barack Obama quickly signaled general support for the concept.

Congress can then use the money to fund healhcare for wounded veterans.    After all, it is only fair.

Addendum:(Bit) Is it just me, or does this take on an uncomfortable parallel to Mein Kampf for kids?
