The chairman of the British Lap Dancing Association, speaking at a legislative hearing Tuesday, made an odd assertion, given his livelihood — a lap dance is “not sexually stimulating,” he said, the Guardian reported.

Simon Warr made the seemingly contrary statement to a British parliamentary committee as part of a hearing on the country’s Licensing Act.

“You are saying that the purpose of a lap dancing club is not to be sexually stimulating?” asked one member of Parliament.

Warr responded: “All right, the entertainment may be in the form of nude or semi-nude performers, but it’s not sexually stimulating.”

This is the kind of nonsense that occurs when government gets involved in every aspect of life. The first victim of government is truth, and the knife gets weilded by those simply trying to survive in the shadow of that government. Now of course this is a fairly extreme example.
