Question for the Reverend Al Sharton [5], since when did perpetuating some of the ugliest sterotypes about black males become an appropriate subject for stand-up humor?
All is not lost. There are some females with dignity, common sense and courage. Leemarie Mosca, public relations director, for Rosie’s Place, a domestic violence shelter for women, explains uninviting Sandra Bernhard, as keynote speaker:
“In light of our mission, we don’t think violence against women is a laughing matter,”
And Sue Marsh, Rosie’s executive director:
“[W]e do not believe that violence against women is a joking matter and will not be including Ms. Bernhard in our upcoming fundraising event.”
