Someone was apparently reading MichaelW over at Q&O yesterday when he suggested playing “Barracuda” for Sarah Palin. Of course now, The Wilson sisters are doing the cease and desist number.

Ya know, ladies, I say this as a longtime fan… I have to tell you, that’s petty, and mean-spirited… but then again it’s what I’ve come to expect from liberals. However, I expected more from you.

Update: (Bit)  MichaelW notes the story, too.

  1. Heart just joined the ranks of the Dixie Chicks.

  2. Thing is, I guess I would expect it more from a Seattle based group, given the politics there.

Still, this is more petty than even Seattle’s far left politics can account for.

  3. I agree with all of the above. That is so petty but I will no longer listen to them even on the radio. It\’s easy to just press a button and change the station.

  4. I saw Heart, along with Gentle Giant in the Coliseum (Portland) circa 1978 – great show.  Perhaps it was my high school days in the NW, but I have always felt an affinity with the band and their music.

What Ann and Nancy did was shear (partisan enraged) stupidity. Just think… damn near thirty years after your zenith in music and you want to shut down potential national, and repeated airplay of one of your greatest hits.  Ann and Nancy, women who were fighting their own glass ceiling want to stop another women’s attempt to break the second highest one.  Who cares about that, she is rethugucrap John McSame’s running mate.  Just shows how deeply identity politics has burrowed into the psyche of the malignant modern American left.
