On our recent trip to Western Ohio, we noted something on the NY-PA border that doesn’t put NY in the best of light. Consider, here.
Travel I-90 westbound. into PA, and you get hit with a freshly redone highway, and a brand new rest area, complete with super-clean restrooms, lots of tourist info, picnic areas, a dog walk, and a rather nice view of the nearby vineyard, all before you’re out of the shadow of the border.
Upon returning to NY, at the same border traveling I-90 eastbound, you’re greeted by signs advertising adult book stores, and a toll booth, and a sign suggesting the nearest rest stop is another 40 minutes away.
Oh… and they do have this sign.
And you know, I’ll bet they wonder why NY state is losing tourism dollars.
