Ike Went to Korea.  BO Will Not Go to Iraq.

1952, Dwight David Eisenhower:

“I will go to Korea,” [1]

Ike went to Korea.  The fighting stopped.

2008, Barack Hussien Obama, rejects John McCain’s proposal that they both go to Iran, From the BO campaign, via Jim Geraghty, National Review [2].

“John McCain’s proposal is nothing more than a political stunt, and we don’t need any more ‘Mission Accomplished’ banners or walks through Baghdad markets to know that Iraq’s leaders have not made the political progress that was the stated purpose of the surge. The American people don’t want any more false promises of progress, they deserve a real debate about a war that has overstretched our military, and cost us thousands of lives and hundreds of billions of dollars without making us safer

As Geraghty notes, while BO is perfectly willing to meet with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, he is not willing to meet with General David Petraeus.

Of course there is a difference between Ike and BO.  Ike wanted to end the Korean war, and he did.  In contrast, BO just wants to quit Iraq.  Ike wanted to know how to end the war.  BO doesn’t care if the war in Iraq ends or not.
