Wright:Wrong

Apparently, the Obama camp has decided that backtracking… actually wearing the flag pion, claiming fealty to America, and creating feel-good images of Jeramiah Wright, is the only way that they’re going to get out of the box they’ve been set into  THe trick they’re trying with Jeremiah Wright is to try and cast him as a victim of a media smear campaign. Only one problem with that: Jeremiah Wright, himself. Courtesy of Marc Armbinder: [1]

BILL MOYERS:

In the 20 years that you’ve been his pastor, have you ever heard him repeat any of your controversial statements as his opinion?

REVEREND WRIGHT:

No. No. No. Absolutely not.

I don’t talk to him about politics. And so he had a political event, he goes out as a politician and says what he has to say as a politician. I continue to be a pastor who speaks to the people of God about the things of God.

Look, I’ll comment on that slithering snake Moyers at another time… but even in that liberal- friendly environment, this comes out.  And of course, Mr Wright is now telling us that we should believe him and not our lying ears, that his words were taken out of context and twisted… though he fails in explaining under what context such comments as he made would ever be acceptable, and why they’d have been acceptable to him, and perhaps of greater import, why they would be acceptable to Obama and his wife. Given the other associations that Obama has yet to answer for, (Ayers, etc,) and the one I wrote about yesterday, [2] the pattern is all too clearly anti-American… and Wright amounts to only a small part of that.

Read that passage again: [3]

“He’s a politician, I’m a pastor,” he said. “We speak to two different audiences. And he says what he has to say as a politician. I say what I have to say as a pastor. But they’re two different worlds.”

He added, “I do what I do. He does what politicians do. So that what happened in Philadelphia where he had to respond to the sound bytes, he responded as a politician.”

So what is Wright saying? Obama’s a liar?
OK, I guess I can buy that.
