Noted today, in my “inbox”: Two stories.
- Michelle Obama complaining that using the middle name of her husband is a ‘fear bomb’. [1]
- And at the same time, from this source, we see calls for limits on “religious insults’ [2] against Muslims.
The tie in, of course is they’re both complaining about the same thing,and trying to limit the effects of people’s perceptions.
Their problem of course is this: The truth can often be very insulting. Certainly, the reaction to the truth can limit some people’s power over you.
You can understand why freedom of speech, isn’t really a value, both in the case of the Islamic name of “he who must not be middle named”, and islam in general. Remember, though; this is YOUR freedom we’re talking about, here.
