[1]I have previously commented that Mrs. Clinton campaigns ugly [2]. The true nature of Mrs. Clinton’s campaign is getting harder to simply sweep under the carpet. Alec MacGillis and Anne E. Kornblut, Washington Post [3], only officially hide their disgust:
DILLON, S.C., Jan. 23 — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton [4]‘s presidential campaign aired a new radio ad here Wednesday that repeated a discredited charge against Sen. Barack Obama [5], in what some Democrats said is part of an increasing pattern of hardball politics by her and former president Bill Clinton.
You know darn well that when a reporter uses the term “some” he is referring to, but not acknowledging, his personal feelings. Note that the WaPo didn’t see any need to put the term discredited in quotes, or to soften it, by calling the charge alleged, or disputed.
