Mrs. Clinton did not like it. However the theme of Mrs. Clinton and George Orwell does continue to resonate. Judicial Watch [2]has pried lose some 13,000 HillaryCare documents from the Clinton Library. They only be described as chilling, or shall we say Orwellian. Mrs. Clinton’s group drafted plans to spy on citizens, not enemies of the state, but rather opponents of HillaryCare, via Wake Up Ameica [3]:
– A February 5, 1993 Draft Memorandum [4]from Alexis Herman and Mike Lux detailing the Office of Public Liaison’s plan for the health care reform campaign. The memorandum notes the development of an “interest group data base” detailing whether or not organizations “support(ed) us in the election.” The database would also track personal information about interest group leaders, such as their home phone numbers, addresses, “biographies, analysis of credibility in the media, and known relationships with Congresspeople.”
No mention is cited to courts orders. Evidently Mrs. Clinton feels that spying on America’s enemies requires a court order, whereas spying on her political opponents does not. You government spying on you from merely wishing to have choice. Chilling.
