Another real indication of progress in Iraq:
Iraq’s western province of Anbar, hotbed of the Sunni Arab insurgency for the first four years of the war, will be returned to Iraqi control in March, a senior U.S. general said Thursday.
In terms of pacification and the reestablishment of the rule of law, it doesn’t get much better than this. And Anbar makes the 9th of 18 provinces returned to Iraqi control.
Quite right. Meanwhile, The mainstream media is sitting at a green light on this, apparently it’s not green enough for them.
