It’s Mrs. Clinton’s Party And She’ll Cry If She Needs to

Mrs. William Clinton [1]In the comments for Bit’s New Hampshire post [2], Reader suggested that voters were moved by Mrs. Clinton’s crying act.  It the policy of this site to treat all episodes of the Clintons crying in public as suspect.  It called the Ron Brown Rule.  Matthew Yglesias, Atlantic [3], provides interesting collaboration for Reader’s theory.

Commenter Brian makes an observation [4]“No one is talking about how the polls actually nailed Obama’s number. Obama didn’t lose this election. He stayed steady and Hillary surged ahead.” That seems to be true. Here’s a chart comparing the actual results to the most recent Pollster.com current standard estimate [5] polling average

The pre-election polls nailed Barack Obama support.  The undecided voters, broke for Mrs. Clinton.  So what happened between the time the last polls and the actual votes, Mrs. Clinton cried.

Oh Bit please forgive me for what I am about to do.  Further anecdotal support provided by MoDo [6]:

A woman gazing at the screen was grimacing, saying it was bad. Three guys watched it over and over, drawn to the “humanized” Hillary. One reporter who covers security issues cringed. “We are at war,” he said. “Is this how she’ll talk to Kim Jong-il?”

We haven’t given Mrs. Clinton much respect, and not that she deserves any.  however if Mrs. Clinton intends to cry her way to the White House, I will manage, somehow, to give Mrs. Clinton the respect she deserves.

Leaders don’t cry for themselves and Mrs. Clinton is no leader.

Aside: this could be one scary election come November, a charlatan preacher versus an hysterical woman.  How much is bus fare to Canada?

Hat Tip: Memeorandum.
