Five Years Old?

From WDIV: [1]

John David R. Atchison, 53, an assistant U.S. attorney from the northern district of Florida, was arraigned in U.S. District Court in Detroit Monday afternoon.

An undercover officer posed as a mother offering her child to Atchison for sex, according to police.

It is interesting to me, the reaction of the Liberal blogs this morning.  They’re all out screaming for blood.  And perhaps understandably.  But just a short time ago, the were having all kinds of problems with the president for removing people from those positions, even though they ostensibly serve at his pleasure. Oh, well, I suppose there’s no satisfying some people.

Addendum:

Billy, I have no argument with any of all that.   [2]

He SHOULD be removed… from the planet, when possible.  It just struck me as somewhat morbidly amusing, that the ones that are screaming the loudest about this case, are the ones who were screaming very loudly against the president, handling of such attorneys, at the beginning of his ten year the White House.  There seems something of a double standard being applied, there.  I took some pleasure and pointing that double standard out over at Shakespeare’s Sister… though I must admit I hold no one’s to their understanding what the hell I was talking about.

I wonder, too, about the kind of enforcement tactics being used in this case.  I notice that in this case, nobody’s bothering to ask whether that the investigation was wholly on the up and up.  Apparently, nobody gives a damn about whether his rights were violated or not.  Again, perhaps understandably.  I know I’m certainly not.  I appreciate the effort law enforcement has brought to this case.   I appreciate that law enforcement has the tools available to do the job they did.

But I wonder, sometimes, how many such cases (And in more than simply sexual assault) have been ruined by efforts to limit the tools available to law enforcement.
