Yeah, well, about that….. I’ve got a suggestion for ya, Georgie…. How about putting a real team together?
A team that isn’t routinely getting its lazy backside kicked up around it’s shoulder blades by teams with approximately half the total salary. A team that doesn’t get thrashed by the Devil Rays, every time they take the field together, for example. Last night’s score? 14-4, Tampa Bay. Today’s score? Well at this writing it’s 2-0 Tampa Bay, top of the 4th.
Putting together a Yankees team that could actually play, might actually distract the fans from the little fantasy that ESPN has going, here.
Here’s a clue, as to how to go about that; Admit that this is not about you, George, and whether not you’re having a good hair day… in real life, or in somebody’s portrayal of you.
See, I admit I’ve never bought into the mystique surrounding the New York Yankees, and every time they lose, as in this entire season, does my heart immeasurable good. That so many baseball fans hold them in such high regard is why I’ve not been a fan of MLB for many years. That the Yankees are now in a losing season, is enough to peak my interest. This self centeredness that has always surrounded the Yankees organization from the top down to the bat boy, is precisely why.
