OSLO, Norway (AP [1]) — Former Vice President Al Gore [2] was nominated for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his wide-reaching efforts to draw the world’s attention to the dangers of global warming [3], a Norwegian lawmaker said Thursday.

“A prerequisite for winning the Nobel Peace Prize [4] is making a difference, and Al Gore [5] has made a difference,” Conservative Member of Parliament Boerge Brende, a former minister of environment and then of trade, told The Associated Press

There may be a prereuisite, in theory at least, to win the Nobel Peace prize.  The only prerequisite for getting nominated is having some fool write a letter and mail to the commitee.

In that vein, the Landmark Legal Foundation Nominates Rush Limbaugh for 2007 Nobel Peace Prize [6]:
