Who owns American English?
In the morning fish wrapper, I read a version of this article [1] suggesting the banning of several words. I was tempted to give the LSSU professors the esteemed BB award [2]. Yet the perfessors at LSSU didn’t quit seem to take themselves that seriously.
I also surfed across an article by Dr. Elizabeth Kantor [3] Monday, which included this one little gem:
Are “Christianists”—Andrew Sullivan’s newly coined word for Christians.
My point is simply this, if one person, any one person, in this case Andrew Sullivan, can coin, or invent, a word, who is anybody, including the professors at LSSU, to tell me the word is banned?
