Mrs. Pelosi’s Swamp, a Continuing Drama

pelosi23.jpg

Back on 16 December, I commented on Mrs. Pelosi’s planned four day coronation [1],   Rather then spending the public’s time in excessive celebration, Mrs. should be attending to draining her swamp.

In the previous congress, when a republican congressman, Mark Foley, admited to unethical behavior, then Speaker Denny Hasert persuaded Foley to resign.

In the Hill, Jonathan E. Kaplan and Jackie Kucinich, report John Conyers(D-MI) has “accepts responsibility for possible ethics violations [2]:”

Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) has “accepted responsibility” for possibly violating House rules by requiring his official staff to perform campaign-related work, according to a statement quietly released by the House ethics committee late Friday evening. The top Republican and Democratic members on the ethics panel, Reps. Doc Hastings (R-Wash.) and Howard Berman (D-Calif.), said in a statement that Conyers acknowledged a “lack of clarity” in communicating what was expected of his official staff and that he accepted responsibility for his actions.

Mrs. Pelosi, if you care about democracy, drain your swamp.  When former republican representative, Mark Foley, admited unethical behavior, he at last behaved with honor and resigned.   Mrs. Pelosi you should demand no less from John Conyers.

A spokesman for Incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Conyers will remain chairman of the Judiciary Committee.

Of course he will.
